No Rest for the Wicked

Where does the time go?? The Kimgowskis have been trying to answer that very question as we continue to plow through this journey called life. So many changes have happened, are happening, and will continue to happen in our lives as the days fly by.

Since my last post, I’m ashamed to say that we’ve pretty much done nothing but work, work, and more work! I’ve been struggling with this a bit lately. The Kimgowski name used to be synonymous with fun, adventure, and experiencing life to its fullest. We definitely seem to be slowing down and I’m having a hard time swallowing that reality. I don’t think it’s a permanent lull in adventure (it CAN’T be!), but it’s certainly a necessary one for this time in our lives.

Continuing the growth of TST is in the forefront of our lives right now. We are preparing to move locations, once again. Only this time, we’re moving to a very large, very awesome building that Bart has purchased that will hopefully be TST’s home for the next 5+ years. We are currently undergoing renovations with hopes to move in in August. Bart is designing some new parts for the Ducati which is hopefully going to yield a massive sales boom. We’re continuing to grow exponentially which is bringing its usual cause for celebration and equal cause for panic and stress! We had an employee quit on us with no notice which has thrown a wrench into things a bit. The good news is, we planned to fire him anyway – the bad news is, we now have the task of hiring someone in the midst of an already chaotic time. But what’s new? If it were easy, everybody would do it!

While we haven’t been making time the last couple of months for our usual skydiving and scuba diving adventures, Bart has been getting in plenty of time at the track! It’s a bit of a haul as both of the tracks he goes to are over 3 hours away. It makes for a tiring weekend, but he loves it. We decided that I should give track riding a try! After all, I’ve done a little road racing and drag racing, I’ve done plenty of off-roading – how different could it be? The answer to that is – VERY!!!!! Let’s just say it was a less than successful endeavor. After investing $400 into the weekend, I crashed the bike during my third session of the first day. I was ok! Although I think I suffered a very minor concussion of sorts and an extremely bruised self-esteem. I didn't break the bike too badly. Just enough to make the panels unable to be sold (Bart asked if he could remove them before I rode and I told him not to bother - I won't crash!), and enough to render the bike un-rideable for the rest of the weekend. All I have to say is, even at 40mph you can still break the bike, and it still hurts!!!!

Since track riding didn’t quite work out for me, I decided maybe I should just stick with theatre. :) So, I’m back in action! I’ll be hitting the Athens stage once again in August playing Brooke Wyndham in Legally Blonde: The Musical. I’m so excited, and so terrified, to be playing this role! My big number involves a variety of difficult jump rope tricks that I must perform while singing and of course, acting. It’s proving to be even harder than I originally suspected! The night terrors have begun. The anxiety has set in. Will I get through 10 shows and manage to not take out an audience member with my beaded jump rope? That remains to be seen! Luckily, I will have Mom, Dad, and Kristy there along with Bart to support me opening weekend. Cross your fingers for me- I’m gonna need it!

We did manage to sneak away from the madness for a few days and took a trip to upstate New York to visit Bart's cousins and friends from Poland who were in town. We decided to make this trip coincide with my birthday! We had so much fun. It's hard not to with that group of people. They always welcome us with open arms and make our stay so enjoyable, although that may be partly why they just keep us drunk the whole time! :) We hadn't seen his cousins since October, and we hadn't seen Makej, Ula, and Paulina since our trip to Europe in 2012. There was a lot of catching up to do. I didn't understand a word of it, literally, but it was fun to listen anyway! ;) They also made sure to make my birthday special with a cake with candles and everything! We had such a great time - thanks Peter and Barbara!

That’s pretty much it for the Kimgowskis right now! Work, track, theatre, and of course keeping up with my school work and making some final plans for our wedding on September 11. Let the countdown begin!

Thanks for being a part of our ongoing adventure!
